Another week another new football helmet design by Nike. This time, it’s the University of Minnesota who will be sportin’ new lids for the 2012 season. It would be easy to go on and on about the specs of the helmet, but that’s kind of boring. Simply put, they’re pretty sick.

Nike in collaboration with LeBron James has developed an off-court clothing line featuring a very royal looking lion logo designed to pay homage to LeBron’s “heart of a lion.”
“Game after game. LeBron James’ heart stays strong. The two-time NBA MVP has seen his fair share of battles. He’s done his time on the hardwood. In the gym. And around the neighborhood. With every victory the beast within grows stronger. More determined. Fearless. Always on.”

If anyone needs us over the next three days we’ll be pretending we’re in Xuhui, Shanghai, China for the Nike Festival of Sports.
“Considered to be the most comprehensive sporting event in China since the 2008 Summer Olympic in Beijing, the Nike Festival of Sports is the embodiment of tenet set by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, “If you have a body, you are an athlete”. In this celebration of athletes and athleticism across the board, spectators are asked to participate in a number of venues, each sponsored by divisions like Nike Soccer, Nike Running, Nike Women, Nike Tennis, and even Nike Mixed Martial Arts. And for those not wanting to break a sweat, they can become audience members to see star athletes like LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, Kyrie Irving, along with players from both Duke and Georgetown Universities, and local U19, U22, U25 basketball teams in action…”
You gotta hand it to Nike and the U.S. Women, even in defeat they still know how to seize their opportunity.
