Spotted: Serena Williams is following Tiger Woods around at The Honda Classic. This screengrab was taken just after she was told by a marshal to stop taking pictures of Tiger with her phone. Guess no one is above (golf) law?
Chalk another one up for the ladies today! On the heels of Condoleezza Rice and Darla Moore becoming the first female members in the history of Augusta National, Maria Sharapova launched a new luxury gummy candy line called Sugarpova. Solid day ladies, solid day.
The Royal Mail has commemorated Andy Murray’s gold medal winning performance over Roger Federer with a first-class stamp in Great Britain. Royal Mail has also painted a red post box gold in Murray’s hometown of Dunblane. Nice touch.
Still, no Brit has won the Wimbledon Championships since Fred Perry in 1936. Andy Murray came close last month suffering an emotional loss as Roger Federer picked up his seventh title at the All England Club.
But today Murray took a big step towards overcoming that crushing defeat by taking Olympic Gold on the same centre court and this time besting Federer.
Serena Williams (USA) Dominates, Wins Olympic Gold
2012 Wimbledon champion Serena Williams continues to own Centre Court winning the Olympic gold medal. She not only defeated Russia’s Maria Sharapova but demolished her, winning in two sets 6-0, 6-1. It took just over an hour. This is her first gold medal in women’s singles.
Apparently Serena needed to finish off Sharapova quickly since she and her sister Venus are playing the women’s doubles semi-final* at 4:30 GMT (11:30 EDT/10:30 CDT) just an hour from now. (Who makes these schedules?)
*The Williams sisters won gold in doubles in 2000 and 2008.

Congratulations to Maria Sharapova on beating that other girl and winning the 2012 French Open. With the win Sharapova becomes the 10th woman to complete the career grand slam.
